Thanks! it was so wonderful, how I jumped after the sound came on. Make sure you don't accidently modify any other settings in the registry. Spent a week googling this problem with out an answer till tonight.

- Re-starting the Windows Audio worked for me:) Had spent quite a while trying to work out how to get them working and then reading this guide worked first time!
